A year since Tarana Burke’s #MeToo campaign went viral, join our roundtable of academics and practitioners in film and television as they reflect on a feminist movement that has transformed the way we think and talk about the creative industries. Performance: So It Is Better To Speak 7-10pm, Theatre An evening of music, song, spoken word and performance from Scotland-based artists. Featuring a musical Balancing Act from composer and musician Amble Skuse; traditional Scottish folk with a feminist twist by Burd Ellen; contemporary flute from Diljeet Bhachu; poetic reflections on the body and self from Juana Adcock; storytelling by Mara Menzies; and a queer sermon by performance maker Nelly Kelly. The roundtable will be hosted by Dee Heddon (University of Glasgow). Performances will be followed by a roundtable discussion about feminist and intersectional approaches to practice.
